In
1920 the two-story brick home built by N.C. Taylor in 1873 was still
standing at 701 W. Sears Street, on the corner of Sears and Barrett
Avenue. It was one of the first two or three brick homes in
Denison. When Central Ward School was built in 1917, the city was
still negotiating for the purchase of the old Taylor house, the last
one remaining on the block. They finally reached an agreement
with the owner in 1925. The house was probably demolished in the
summer of 1925. Central Ward History Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson CountyTXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
