Cashion
School was named for Thomas J. Cashion who came to Grayson County in
1862. Mr. Cashion was a member of Co. B. 5th TX Rangers as 2nd
Lieutenant. The school district was near the Layne and Reasor
school districts.
The first school was on land donated by the Nicholas family. The students brought their own drinking water because water from the well was not suitable for drinking. A second building was built on the Christman land which was located about a mile west of the old school on the Preston Bend road.
