The Denison Press Tuesday, November 2, 1937 pg. 4 DENISON 62-50-35 YEARS AGO November 2, 1902 - Hoodlums broke into the Burleson school building on Halloween night and did a great deal of damage, tearing books and pictures, stealing pens and pencils, tearing up maps, breaking globes and pouring ink over the walls and floors. Every ink stand in one of the 7th grade rooms was upset and the freshly calsimined walls much defaced. Considerable damage was done at Houston school. Larking on Halloween is allowable, but when boys and girls make criminals of themselves by indulging in wanton destruction, they should be taught the difference between innocent amusement and vandalism.
