It
is unclear when the Little Rock school was established, although it is
known that it was between the Civil War and the turn of the century.
The Blank (meaning no name) school was founded by Mr. J. T. Miller who gave the ground on which the school would be located plus $100.00 to start the building fund. He made the stipulation that when the building was no longer used for a school or other community gathering place, it would revert to the original estate. The school building was located just across the fence from an everlasting water well on a rocky plateau. It is supposed that the rocky plateau is how the school was named "Little Rock". There were many little rocks just the right size to pelt the other kids and to break out windows panes. Keeping the window panes replaced was a full time job. In later years, it became a state supported school with a very high rating.
