The
Whitewright Sun
November 13, 1914 pg. 2 The Bethel school opened for a six months' term Monday morning with Grady May of this city as principal and Miss Annie Francis of Tom Bean as assistant. Fifty-five pupils gave their names for enrollment on the first day and the session began with every indication of a profitable year. This is Grady's first experience in teaching and school management, but that his educational training, good habits and good judgment will guide him aright is a safe guess. The trustees were present at the opening of school and made interesting talks, pledging their support and co-operation. Oscar Bow, one of the patrons of the school, was also on hand at the opening hour and encouraged the teachers and pupils in a few well stated remarks.
