Prof. Jas. A. McLauchlin Prof.
Jas. A. McLauchlin, the professor of mathematics in Austin College, is
a man whose devotion to the best interests of the student and
thoroughgoing methods of instruction have given him an enviable
reputation throughout the State. After graduating from Davidson College
he taught for several years in the State of North Carolina and
elsewhere. He was president of Wadesboro Institute when called to the
chair of mathematics in Austin College. In the four years he has been
here, he has given every evidence that the public could wish of his
gifts and accomplishments as a mathematician and instructor.
Moreover, his scholarship is not limited to the one department of
mathematics. He is gifted along other lines as several of his published
works will show. He has also been honored in large measure by the State
teachers' associations. Last year he was conductor of one of the
largest normals in North Texas. His devotion to Austin College has been
exemplary and his devotion to his profession has been equally marked. Austin College History Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson County TXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
