The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, February 16, 1890 pg. 4 SCHOOL BUILDINGS Denison's public school facilities have always been the city's chiefest pride. When she had but very few brick buildings to do business in, she could boats of one of the finest brick school buildings in the south, and in every stage of her brilliant history her school buildings have represented the best she was able to do in the line of substantial architecture. During the year 2 fine brick school buildings - the one in the First, the other in the Third Ward - have been added to these facilities, at a cost of $ ____ But the coming summer will see carried into the effect the greatest achievement in this line that the city has yet undertaken. Is is proposed to build in the Second Ward an 8-room school building, with lobbies, cloak rooms, class rooms, etc., which will be architecturally among the finest structures devoted to school purposes in the state, and which, with furniture and equipments, will cost $50,000.
