More than 200 early-day
pioneers were recorded as living in Grayson County at the time of the
first Old Settlers picnic (August 1879).
They represented almost
every state of the Union and several foreign countried in their
birthplace. According to the minutes of that first picnic in 1879
the early day pioneers still living at that time, their birthplace, and
date they came to the county follow:
