MASONIC LODGE Pilot Grove The Whitewright Sun
Thursday, November 18, 1926 pg. 2 PILOT GROVE MASONIC LODGE The Masonic Lodge at Pilot Grove had an open meeting Tuesday night to the member of the lodge, their families and friends, who were highly entertained by 2 speeches by visitors. E.G. Gilley of Ector made an interesting talk on the order of DeMolay, an auxiliary of the Masonic order for young men. D.S. McMillin, past grand master of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas, spoke on the origin and history of Masonry. This was a very helpful and interesting talk. Mr. McMillin closed with a poem, which surely has been the life sentiments of the speaker, judging from his life. Coming from the lips of the one it did, and given as only he can give it, it made listeners think more seriously of the responsibilities of life and take new courage, more determined to live up to the high calling of the Heavenly Father. Following speeches, wives of the members of the lodge served a sumptous dinner with coffee, grape juice and cigars. Every one went home feeling that the evening had been well spent. - - - Contributed Organizations Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson County TXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
