Internation Organisation of Good Templars

The IOGT originated as one  of many fraternal organizations for temperance and total abstinence founded as early as 1850.  Hower, unlike many other fraternal organizations, I.O.G.T. admitted men and women equally.

Crystal Spring Lodge No. 100 was organized May 8, 1874 by W.L. Terhune, who was elected Worthy Chief.  This lodge is very strong and has done a good work.  Among its membership are many reformed men who were reclaimed from the downward road.  The present officers are

Lone Star Lodge No. 249 was organized April 1st, 1876 and has ably seconded the good work of the parent lodge.  The present officers are

J.M. Sheeder, R.C.
------ Greyson, Chaplain
James Cummings, F.C.
Mrs. Mann, W.T.

Both lodges are in a prosperous condition.
