COWBOY PREACHER
Rev. T.H. Browning, pastor of the Methodist Church, has made a splendid impression on the people of the town in the few months he has been here.  He came from Bryan, Texas, closing a most successful pastorate there.  He is an unusually youthful man in actions and looks, and few would believe that he is nearly 50 years old, having been born in Missouri in1880.  He was reared in Kentucky and came to Texas to be a "cowboy."  He says that he didn't last long at that.  Perhaps the West Texas winters were too much so he then took up harness making, but that was still too much of the same atmosphere, and he returned to Kentucky, and to quote him, "got married."  He then entered the photograph business and was employed at that when he decided to enter the ministry, 10 years ago, while he was a resident of Dallas.
He was educated for his work at S.M.U., where he made a fine record, and has held pastorates at Kaufmann Mission, Campbell, Celeste, Hutchins, Dallas and Bryan.  He is an excellent preacher and it is hoped he will make Van Alstyne his home for a long time.
