First Baptist Church corner of Gene Autry & Porch St. Tioga, Texas  contributor unknown The First Baptist Church in Tioga
was organized in 1873. The church had a baptismal
that the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, east
of Tioga, would borrow to baptize their members. Before that, Mt. Carmel would use someone's stock tank for their baptisms. The church building had a beautiful mural painted in the in the baptisty, painted by Claudia Mays. On Sunday mornings all the churches' bells would ring.  2010
