St. Luke's Episcopal Church Denison, Texas First Church School The
first Sunday School was organized under the rectorship of Rev. Adams on
the twenty-fourth Sunday after Trinity, in November of 1875. Six
teachers and thirty-two pupils were present. St. Luke's,
incidentally, was the first church to have a Sunday school on the south
side of town. On interest is the fact that when St. Luke's celebrated its sixtieth anniversary in 1936 as a self-supported parish, Frank B.
