Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church
Denison, Texas

Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in the early 40's and 50's
2400 block of Walker Street
Denison
The congrgation on a Sunday morning, with Bro. Hibbitt front row second from left.

Church members built the church and also built and stained the pews.

Comment from Ann Shields: "My daddy, Earl Shields, is on the 3rd row from the front in the middle, third from left with the big black hair.
One the right side, far pew, is my Uncle Barney Harris Jr.; he is on the left end of pew, and I think that is my Aunt Ann Harris next to him and my Aunt Mary Alice Harris behind him.
Both my grandparents, Barney and Stella, went to church there, as did my dad's mother, Nora Cline.
I believe my mom's grandparents are on the 2nd row; she (Eliza Harden) is 3rd from left and was blind and her husband (Adelbert Harden) is next to her.
I also see my grandaddy, Barney Harris Sr., on the right on back row on end."
