Baptist Church Georgetown, Texas The Georgetown Baptist Church was organized in the
1870's in a rural area, using the local school building for worship
service. The church was disbanded in 1939 as many people were leaving
the area.
In 1947 people gathered together and reorganized the church. Land for the church facilities was donated by Mr. & Mrs. Carl Finke and land was donated for the minister's home by Mr. & Mrs. A. H. Sharpe. The new building was completed in 1948. Through time, the sanctuary and educational facilities have been expanded. The church's policy has been to stay debt free. All the labor in building the church facilities has been donated by the people. Today the Georgetown Baptist Church is located at Route 1, Pottsboro, Texas.
