Baptist Church
Ethel, Texas Ethel, Then and Now
Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Sanders donated a lot on the southeast corner of their 260 acre farm to
the Ethel Landmark Church. A building was
erected in 1908 where people of the Baptist faith met until about 1957
when the building was sold and most of the
members united with Miller Memorial Baptist Church in Collinsville.
Mr. Noah Cranfill bought the building at Ethel, tore it down, and from the lumber built his home five miles east of Collinsville. Clyde Beck was one of the last ministers for this congregation. He and his wife, Faye, daughter, Mary and son, Bobby Clyde lived on Sanders Land and Cemetery Rd.
