DEXTER BAPTIST CHURCH Dexter, Texas Dexter Baptist Church was serving the community in 1908 as
well as the Salem Landmark Baptist Church in 1913.
At the 22nd Annual Session of the Grayson County Baptist Association in 1908, Dexter Baptist Church was represented by J. W. Owens. A petitionay letter was read and received by the church. The church donated one dollar for the minutes. J. W. Owens was pastor and J. T. Delashaw as clerk. Two members joined the congregation by baptism, four members were dismissed, two members were excluded with a total of 36 members on the church rolls. At the 24th Annual Session of Grayson County Baptist Association in August 1910, Elder J. W. Owen, Hugh Bean and L. B. Owen were messengers. The church gave one dollar and twenty-five cents to the minutes and donated twenty-five dollars adn fifteen cents for county missions. J. W. Owens was pastor. J. T. Delashaw was clerk. Six joined by baptism, two by letter, with one dismissed for a total of 42 members. In August 1911 at the 25th Annual Sessionof the Grayson County baptist Association, L. B. Owens, L. B. Delashaw and Hugh Bean were messengers from Dexter. The minutes received one dollar and fifty cents and county missions received thirteen dollars from the Dexter Baptist Church. Five joined by baptism, two by letter. Two members were restored, one dismissed and two were exculded from the congregation in 1911.
