Travis Street Church of Christ Sherman, Texas   In
the early 1850s, the Sherman Church existed in Sherman, Texas. During
the post Civil War years, the congregation met in downtown buildings. The first building was erected at the corner of Houston and Montgomery Streets. In 1920, a new building was erected at the corner of Walnut and Cherry Streets. The congregation moved into a new building at 1615 S. Travis St. in November 1963. Olden Cook, Steve Smith and Joe Ed Furr served as ministers. Western Heights Church of Christ Sherman, Texas  In 1993, the Travis St. Church of Christ became the Western Heights Church of Christ when the congregation moved into its new building located at 800 Baker Park Drive.
