Mrs. Cynthia Ann Sanderson, aged 77, died at the home of her son, B. L. Sanderson, in the Bethel community south of town, last Friday night at 9:30 o’clock, following a six months illness. Mrs. Sanderson was born in Indiana June 6, 1852. She was married to W. N. Sanderson in 1871. To this union four children were born, two of whom survive. She moved to Texas with her husband in 1886. After his death she made her home with her sons.
Mrs. Sanderson was a member of the Christian Church at Pilot Grove, and lived a devoted Christian life. Amiable in disposition, her greatest desire was to be helpful to others. In her going, another good old-fashioned mother has passed to her reward.
The funeral service was held at the Pilot Grove Baptist Church Saturday, and was conducted by Rev. J. T. Purvis, pastor of the Central Christian Church. A beautiful tribute was paid the Christian life that had been lived, and the rich consolation of the gospel given those who were bowed in sorrow. Burial was at the Pilot Grove Cemetery.
The deceased is survived by two sons, B. L. Sanderson, south of town, and E. R. Sanderson, Peacock, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
