Burrows Chapel Burrows
Chapel, located at Rock Creek, was built on land donated by Haywood
Burrow. The building, built in the late 1800s, was
constructed with boxing planks with windows on three sides.
The Chapel was used by a Methodist group for a number of
years. When members began leaving the area, a Nazarene Church
was organized. Later a Baptist group used the building.
In 1915 the last church service was held in the building. Due to deterioration, Haywood Burrow tore the building down in 1918 and used the lumber to build a barn. In 1930 a Baptist group build a brush arbor on the site where Burrows Chapel once stood and held services when weather permitted. Ministers who pastored at Burrows Chapel were Rev. King, Rev. Farley and Rev. J. Y. Bullard source: Churches &
