According to a report from the only witness, J.R. Johnson of Sherman, the victim was walking south and slipped and fell when he crossed the tracks in front of the moving train, just south of the Pacific street crossing.  The train passed over the body, cutting it in two, and badly mangled the head.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Negro Baptist Church here, Rev. Ed McCloud, officiating.
Surviving are his wife and two sons.
