PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
The investigations of the reporter have enabled him to assert that this church has been more prosperous during the past year than ever before.  During the present pastorate, covering a period of nearly two years and a half, about seventy-five substantial members have been received into full communion.  The congregations are generally large and attentive, and the influence of the church for good is generally acknowledged throughout the community.
Last year this church raised nearly $2,000 to carry on its own individual work, besides contributing liberally to the various missionary enterprises, which are being vigorously prosecuted by the church in the great southwest.  The pastor's salary and all incidental expenses are paid promptly every month.
The Presbyterian Church of Denison has never failed in her obligations a single cent, and she is now in better financial condition than ever before.  Both the church and parsonage have been repaired and put in good condition, and the pastor's study has been handsomely furnished by his congregation.
Officers of the church : - Mr. Sam Hanna, Dr. A.W. Acheson, Mr. W.W. Bennett, Mr. J. Jacoby.  Deacons : - Mr. Frank Robinson, Mr. Alex Rennie, Mr. Walter Bettes, Mr. W. Saunders, Mr. L.H. Ruthrauff.  These officers have general charge of the spiritual and financial affairs of the church.  Several societies are maintained by the ladies, who are said to be doing valuable service.  The Ladies' Aid Society under the management of Mrs. Coffin, is worthy of much praise for the valuable service performed during the year.  The Presbyterian Sunday School is in a flourishing condition, with an attendance of 125 scholars.  The school is under the charge of Elder Sam Hanna, Superintendent, and the following teachers : Madames Dora Swartz, John B. Waples, Frank Robinson, Kate Venable, A.R. Malcolm, Misses Mittie Venable, Sallie Little and Messrs. Frank Robinson, Geo. W. Felts, Walter Bettes, all of whom are earnest and conscientious in their work.
