Presbyterian Church
Rev. Josiah Milligan, who came here under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church as a missionary, was the pioneer preacher.  The church was organized in the fall of 1972...West Gandy and Burnett avenue was erected during 1873.  Mr. Milligan remained in charge for about 2 years and was succeeded by Rev. Mr. Lyenberger, who served about one and a half years and was succeeded by Rev. R.M. Carson who remained until last month.  At present there is no regular pastor in charge and Mr. E.F. Hoke, of Sherman, occupies the pulpit occasionally until a regular pastor is secured.  This church is one of the strongest in the city.
