RELIGIOUS NOTES
Sherman, Tex., July 29 - A large tabernacle is being erected on East Lamar
street and a series of meetings will be conducted under the auspices of the
First Methodist church.
Methodist camp meetings at Cedar, Greenwood and Pecan, all near the city, are
growing in interest and reclamations are counted by the score.
Quarterly conferences are in session at the Methodist churches of the city and
vicinity.
The Waco district conference of the colored Methodist Episcopal church is in
session at their church in this city. About 100 clergymen are in
attendance.
Rev. A.J. Harris, pastor of the Baptist church at Gainesville, who has been
holding a meeting at Tioga, will begin a series of meetings at Union Point
schoolhouse near the city Monday next.
The new edifice of the First Presbyterian church is progressing quite rapidly.
