First Congregational Church
Denison, Texas

On Tuesday, December 18, 2018, Brian Hander attended an open house for Linda Shelton and Valerie Freels were opening at 1401 W. Gandy, Denison, Texas.  While there, Brian was introduced to a neighbor of the ladies, who was in the process of renovating his house at 1405 W. Gandy.
The owner of the house told Brian that he went under his home which has a full basement to do some work and noticed that one of the stone holding up a pier of the house looked odd.  Upon further inspection and removal of the stone, he discovered that it was the cornerstone of the First Congregational Church, dated 1891.
Was the First Congregational Church torn down around the time that the residence at 1405 W. Gandy was built and the owners or builders incorporated pieces of the church building into the home?  (Map)
