First Baptist Church Denison, Texas The Bonham Daily Favorite Tuesday, October 30, 1923 KNOCKED DOWN BY AUTO, BUT BOY IS ON TIME AT CHURCH Determined to keep his place on the class honor roll, which he has held for several weeks, Henry Dale Vanstone, 6-year-old on of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vanstone, 1300 West street, Denison, immediately after being knocked down and rolled over several times when struck by an automobile at the corner of Main street and Mirick avenue, recovered his equilibriuem, made his way to the First Baptist church and stood in line in time to answer to his name at roll call. Dozens of church-bound pedestrians witnessed the accident, which was said to have been unavoidable, and although a physician's examination showed no bones broken, the little fellow was badly shaken up, and should have been taken home. However, he insisted on making his way to Sunday School, where he was pointed out by the superintendent as a model for that class of old and young person who are sometimes anxious to accept the flimsiest exduses for remaining away from Sunday Schoo. - - - Denison Herald First Baptist Church History Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson CountyTXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
