$15,000 Donated First Baptist Church in Memory of Mrs. McCarthy
For the expressed purpose of paying off the indebtedness of the new educational building of the First Baptist church in Denison, Sunday morning Rev. H.R. Long, pastor, announced that Mrs. W.A. Lovelette had pre sented the church a cash gift of $15,000.  The donor is the daughter of the late Mrs. Laura A. McCarthy.  In appreciation of the gift the building will be known in the future as the Laura A. McCarthy memorial and a suitable corner stone will be purchased and installed with due solemnity and appropriate ceremony in keeping with the gift, and probably the Rev. George Truett will particiate in the dedication, which will be announced at a later date.

Note: Mrs. McCarthy was Laura Almeda Cutler Howard McCarthy, wife of Gus Howard and then Charles C. McCarthy
Donor is her daughter, Emaline Corrine "Emma Cora" Howard Lovellette Seay, wife of William Augustus Lovellette and Dr. Edward Lee Seay.
