Lela Eloise Cook, 88, of Sherman, passed away Thur, Aug. 21, at Texoma Healthcare of Sherman. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 Monday afternoon, Aug. 25, in Dannel Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Leland Samuelson officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery.

Lela was born Oct. 24, 1925, in Denison, to Will and Lillie Harp Davis. She married George Cook, in Sherman, on Apr. 7, 1941. Together they raised three children. She was retired from Texas Instruments, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Sherman.

She is survived by her husband G.C.; her children: Doug Cook, Shirley Roberts and Betty Montgomery, all of Sherman; six grandchildren: Cheryl Mentzel, Brad Roberts, Julie Cooper, Jina Taylor, Jeremy Montgomery and Kayla Henry; six great-grandchildren: Cole Mentzel, Hunter Roberts, Presley Roberts, Bentli Taylor, Briley Henry and Ethan Henry; numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and all seven of her siblings: Ollie Davis of California, J.K. Davis of Denison, Herbert Davis of California, Elrene Mullins of Denison, Phyllis Smith of Denison, Mary Holbrook of Pottsboro and Joyce Satzer of West Virginia.
