Ellen Miller, 81, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Texoma Medical
Center in Denison. Graveside services were held Sunday, August
20, 2017 at Friendship Cemetery, Sherman. Steve Snodgrass
officiated. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of
Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
Jo Ellen was born February 16, 1936 in Weslaco, Texas, daughter of Irvin and Floy Lynch Phippeny. She was a graduate of TWU. Jo Ellen loved her work and helping people as an Occupational Therapist. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, her 4 dogs and 2 cats, going to the beach and going camping with her family. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Jo Ellen is survived by her daughters, Patricia Johnson and husband, Robert, of Austin; Lisa Wiley and husband, James, of Kaufman; Rebecca Mae Miller of Denison; one brother, Danny Phippeny and wife, Christine; grandchildren, Curtis Wiegel and wife, Jackie; Bradley Wiegel and wife, Carrie; Amanda Conner and husband, Dusty; Tyler Johnson; Laura Johnson; Melissa Howard and husband, Jimmy; Rex Bowers; Brooke Morrier and husband, Luke; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Chris Tompkins; many nieces and nephews and family members.
