Cheryl Paulette Woodworth passed away at her home of 38 years on May 25, 2014, after a lengthy battle with cancer. In recent months, Cheryl was under the loving care of her family, members of Grace United Methodist Church and Home Hospice of Grayson County. Waldo Funeral Home of Sherman is in charge of arrangements.

Cheryl Paulette Mohler was born on September 17, 1945 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Raymond E. and Beulah Mohler. She attended Toledo and South Tama High Schools. In 1963 she graduated from South Tama High School. Prior to her formal education she was employed for eleven years by Fisher Controls in Marshalltown, Iowa. In January 1977, the family
moved to Sherman, Texas with the opening of the new Fisher Controls manufacturing plant where Ron was instrumental
in the startup.

After moving to Texas Cheryl discovered her appetite for knowledge and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988 and Master of Arts degree in 1989 from Austin College. Not satisfied with educating herself Cheryl enrolled at Southeastern Oklahoma State University earning a Master of Education in 1993. She went on to teach school for over twenty-four years. Cheryl assisted in educating countless young men and women at Glad Tidings, Sherman Texas; Savoy High School, Savoy, Texas; and Pottsboro Middle School, Pottsboro, Texas. While earning her advanced degrees Cheryl continued to work for Grace United Methodist Church and Texas Instruments.

Cheryl married Ronald Lee Woodworth of Tama, Iowa at the First United Methodist Church in Toledo, Iowa, on May 10, 1964. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren. While living in Iowa, Cheryl gave birth to two daughters Mindy Ann on December 12, 1969 and Andrea Autumn on September 29, 1975.

Cheryl's love was devoted to her family and church. Her best times were spent in the kitchen teaching her six grandchildren how to make cookies. She was an exceptional cook and for family gatherings she always prepared a large feast making everyone's favorites.

Cheryl used her hobbies of photography and scrap booking to document her legacy including the lives of her children and grandchildren. Over the past fifty years, she has compiled nearly 200 photo albums and scrapbooks documenting births, birthdays, marriages, family reunions and every family get-together. For the past 19 years, she has taken each grandchild to a professional photographer on their birthday. As a lifelong member of the Methodist church, her faith and her family were the most important things in her life.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Ronald Lee (Woody) 2917 Redbud Trail, Sherman; two daughters, Mindy (David) Schoen, Frisco, Texas; and Andrea (Jonan) Fulenchek, Bridgeville, Penn. She also leaves her mother Beulah Mohler Kalona, Iowa; two sisters, Peggy Witte, Conrad, Iowa; and Sharyn (Terry) Chandlee of Kalona, Iowa; brother Perry (Rita) Mohler, Marion, Iowa.; grandchildren: David Lee Schoen, Spencer Thomas Schoen; Jon Andrew Schoen; Savannah
Lauren Schoen; Layklynn Dawn Funlenchek and Elak Carl Fulenchek as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond.

Family night will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 2800 Canyon Creek Drive, Sherman. Services will be administered on Wednesday at 10 a.m. by Pastor John Fleming of Grace United Methodist Church.

Immediately, after church services interment will be at Friendship Cemetery, 293 Friendship Road, Sherman.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be directed to Grace United Methodist Church or Home Hospice of Grayson County.
