December 2, 2012 Iva Lee Richards, passed away on Wednesday, 28 November, 2012 in Sherman at the age of 87. She was born Iva Lee Phipps on 23 June, 1925, in Southmayd to Robert L. and Thelma Rose Riley Phipps. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert [R.L.] Phipps and Joe Phipps; two sisters, Francis Martinek and Judy Shannon; and her son, William E. Gunn; and four husbands. She is survived by her brother, Charles and his wife Barbara Phipps; her sister, Gladys and her husband Jimmie Woods; her son Robert D. Gunn, of Howe; and daughter Barbara L. and her husband Oliver Fry of Huntsville Ala.; five grandchildren, Michelle Armstrong and her husband Chris, Marjorie Jordan and her husband James, Laurlee Lau and her husband Steve, Myria Fry, and Scott Fry and his wife Suzie, and nine great-grandchildren, Catelyn Armstrong, Shellby Armstrong, James Jordan, Mercedes Jordan, Richard Gunn, China Gunn, Scott Disch, Abigail Disch, Layne Fry. Iva was a long time employee of Pool Manufacturing from 1965 until it closed. She also worked at T.I. and at Walmart. Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3 at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, with viewing until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012., and until 1:30 p.m. on Monday Dec. 3. Interment will follow at Friendship cemetery just off S.H. 56 in Sherman. Pallbearers will be, Kenneth Jack King of Southmayd, Chris Armstrong, James B. Jordan, James R. Jordan, Andrew Miller all of Sherman, and Stephen Lau of Huntsville Ala.
