DENISON – Franklin "Frank" Delano Puryear, 78, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Carrus Specialty
Hospital in Sherman, Texas. The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home for visitation Friday, September 30, 2011 from 6 – 8 P.M. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 1, 2011at Park Avenue Church of Christ, 3000 S. Park Ave., Denison, TX 75020, with Todd Catteau officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Sherman, Texas. Pallbearers will be Mickey Cobble, Stephen Fulenchek, Tyler Francis, Harold Porter, Ricky Porter and Tommy Boulware. Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Yarbrough, Dr. Elmer King and Bill Carruth. Full military honors will be provided by Sheppard Air Force Base. Frank was born in Marietta, Oklahoma on March 17, 1933, the son of Wesley Puryear & Mattie Reach. He married Anna Floydene Stracener on June 4, 1993 in Denison, Texas. He was a member of Park Avenue Church of Christ in Denison; received a Bachelor's Degree from North Texas University; served in the US Air Force from June 1951 to September 1971; received the Air Force Commendation Medal; was safety engineer for several insurance companies after retiring from the Air Force and worked for J. C. Penney Co. Frank is survived by his wife Floydene "MeMe" Puryear of Denison; sons Harold Porter & wife Peggy of Denison, Ricky Porter & wife Jane of Sherman; grandchildren Kristi Francis, Lisa Cobble & husband Mickey, Jennifer Fulenchek & husband Stephen, William Tolland, Lindsey Porter; great-grandchildren Tyler, Kelly, Stephen, Timothy, Seth, Corwin, Sam, Benjamin, Madison, Julie, Matthew, Michael, Alexis & Joshua. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Susan Mahan; brothers Buford Puryear, Bill, A. J., Ray & Clay Holder; sisters Lou Westmoreland, Gladys Ellis, Virginia Grimes, Lorene Holder & grandson Monty Francis. Arrangements are entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W.
