John Herbert Morgan, 82, of Dallas passed away on March 29, 2011, at Doctor's Hospital in Dallas. Dannel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Daniel Ledford and Pastor Matt Jarrell officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
John was born in Sherman on Nov. 6, 1928, to Ronce and Janie (Sutherland) Morgan. He married Theresa Oreta Hulsey in November 1955. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage before she passed way on Dec. 2, 2003.
John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a commercial painter. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Theresa, four brothers, and three sisters, John is survived by a son, Michael Jack Morgan and wife Mary Elizabeth of Scroggins; three grandchildren: Sonia Morgan, Johnny Morgan, and Dustin Wesson; three great- grandchildren: Miriam, Jasmine, and Kaleb; and a brother Ronce Morgan and wife Ruth of Sherman..
