SHERMAN - Funeral services for Ruby Lydia James will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Waldo Funeral Home.
Toby Soechting will officiate with Russell Otto, Joshua Harris, Paul Harris Jr., Jordan Yenne, Steve Thompson, Dennis Carter and Danny Crow serving as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Mrs. James, 80, passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 at Hilltop Haven Nursing Home in Gunter.
Ruby was born Oct. 3, 1930 in Sherman to the late Roscoe and Ellen (Hayes) Clark. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1948 and married Carl James on Oct. 2, 1948.
Mrs. James worked at Johnson & Johnson for more than 25 years until she retired to care for Carl. Ruby and Carl had
been married more than 45 years when he died in May 1994. Ruby was a longtime member of the Parkview Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing dominoes and Ruby always made her family the priority of her life.
Mrs. James is survived by two daughters, Cathy Harris and her husband Paul of Sadler and Susie Otto and husband Greg
of Gainesville; grandchildren, Paul Harris Jr. and wife Kelli of Wichita Falls, Amy Yenne and husband Jordan of Dallas, Russell Otto and wife Alisa of Gainesville, and Joshua Harris and wife Megan of Murphy; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Ola Mae Morris and Jewel Thompson, both of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, David and Willie Clark.
The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Tuesday at Waldo Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hilltop Haven
