Funeral services for Dixie Ruth Davis will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at Waldo Funeral Home. Steve Kimberlin will officiate. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis, 72, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, in Ropesville, Texas.

Dixie was born March 25, 1938, in Brownfield, Texas, to the late Jacob Aaron Fox and Verna Ruth (Newberry) Fox. Dixie worked as an accountant and was married to Charles Raymond Davis nearly 30 years when he passed away in 2008.

Mrs. Davis is survived by one daughter, Sharon Woods and her husband Tony of Ropesville; two sisters, Delma Chesshir and her husband Glen of Dallas and Thelma Bennett and husband David of Sherman; five grandchildren, Jason Haselby, Chad Woods, Micky Scott, Trina Scott and Chasity Scott; and two great-grandchildren, Vickie and Zackery Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Micky and Ricky Scott; one daughter, Vickie Haley; and one sister, Rhonda Jo Marshall.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Waldo Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Integral Care Hospice at 1312 Texas Ave, Lubbock, TX 79410.
