June 14, 1936 MRS. ADLINE L. ABICHT Mrs. Adline L. Abicht, 68, resident of Grayson county 47 years, died at 12:15 p.m Sunday at her home in the Friendship community after an illness of several days. Funeral services were to be held at 3 p.m. Monday from the Friendship church, the Rev. W. H. Vail of Valley View officiating. The Revs. C. J. Graves of Alvord was to assist in services. Burial was to be at Friendship cemetery with the Dannel-Scott Funeral home of Sherman in charge. Mrs. Abicht was born July 6, 1867, in Marietta, Ohio. She was married to G. W. Abicht at Marietta and moved shortly afterwards to the Friendship community. She was a member of the Friendship church. Surviving are her husband; one son, T. C. Abicht; two daughters, Mrs. John Dalton and Mrs. Alvin Kumler, all of near Sherman; one brother, Alonzo Goudier of Marietta, Ohio and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were to be Clyde Wible, Wade Smith, Will Cummings, Dave Dalton, Harry Hudgins and Dudley Caudry. Sherman Democrat
page 10 December 27, 1937 GEORGE W. ABICHT Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Friendship community church for George W. Abicht, 77, who died at 9:45 p.m. Friday at his home fives miles west of Sherman on route 2. The Rev. F.A.Ray of Southmayd and Rev. W.H.Vail of Valley View officiated with burial at the Friendship cemetery, directed by the Dannel-Scott Funeral home. Mr. Abicht was born in Ohio May 3, 1860. His father, Christian Abicht, was born in Germany and his mother, the former Caroline Holshu, was born in Ohio. Mr. Abicht was a farmer for 62 years and last worked at this occupation in 1932. He had resided near Sherman for 52 years. He was a member of the Methodist church for many years. His wife died June 14, 1936. Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. J.W.Dalton and Mrs. A.P.Kumler, both of Sherman route 2; one son, T.C.Abicht of Sherman route 2; and two brothers, W.J.Abicht of Chowchilla, Calif., and E.B.Abicht of Dallas. Pallbearers were Harry Hudgins, Will Cummins, J.H.Cavender, Dud Caudry, C.E.Wible and Dave Dalton.
