  Sherman - Funeral services for Edward Barrick Smith were held Monday afternoon, December 17, 2018 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church iu Sherman. Father Wesley Evans of the church officiated. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Smith, 73, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Sherman. Edward was born February 6. 1945 at Wilson N. Jones Memorial Hospital in Sherman, son of Leonard and Grace Owens Smith. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1964 and worked in security for Oscar Mayer and Ultra Carbon. He was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and enjoyed cooking and working in his yard. Mr. Smith will be remembered for his loyal, kindhearted spirit. He is survived by his sister, Grace Hale and husband, Stanley, of Sherman; niece, Catherine Pratt of Austin; great-nephews, Fletcher and Shreve Pratt; and great-niece, Alexis Pratt. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Stephen's Episcopla Church.
