Betty Marie Groce Burrow passed from this life on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the presence of her family, at the home of her loving caregiver, Lisa Hill. Services for Mrs. Burrow were held Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2018 . Don Keene from Western Heights Church of Christ officiated and burial followed at Friendship Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Betty was born in Sherman June 3, 1941, daughter of E.F. and Gladys Groce. She graduated from Sherman High in 1960. She was a wonderful homemaker and worked for may years at Murray Lighting. She later worked for and retired from the Grayson County Courthouse. Betty married Jim Burrow on January 19, 1990 in Durant, Oklahoma. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings, camping and ranching. She loved her fish pond and aquariums, but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jim Burrow, of Whitesboro; her loving mother, Gladys Groce, of Whitesboro; 2 sons, Timothy Hansard and wife, Marita, of Sherman; and Tony Hansard and Kim McKnight of Lewisville; her grandchildren: Taylor Hansard and Sara Hansard Buechler and Seth Buechler of Sherman; her 3 stepchildren, Angela Lott of Alabama; Debbie Wallace and Michael Burrow of Houston; her aunt, Wanda Groce of Sherman; her nieces, Sylvia Wynne and husband, Wilson, of Sherman; and Lisa Hill and husband, Glenn, of Sherman; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandy and John Cole of Sherman; and many cousins. She leaves behind her lifelong and best friend, Sue Conrad. Betty was preceded in death by her father; her uncles, George, John, Claude, Charles, Elbert, Ted, Thomas, David, and James Groce; and her aunts, Nora Swafford, Lucylle Wright, Frances Loyd, and Billie Anderson. Pallbearers were Glenn Hill, Philip Hill, Pascal Cayet, Garrett Cayet, Michael Loyd and grandson, Seth Buechler.
