Friday, October 15, 1937 pg. 1 Funeral services for Thomas R. Odom, 58, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.F. Gibbs, Sherman route 3 at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday were held yesterday afternoon at the Walnut Street Church of Christ in Sherman. Burton Coffman, minister of the church, officiated. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Odom spent most of his life at Howe and was engaged in the grocery and hardware business here for a number of years. He moved to Sherman seven years ago. He was a member of the Howe Presbyterian church. He married Miss Alice Hanning of Dorchester, who survives him, in addition to two daughters, Mrs. Gibbs of Sherman and Mrs. John Bost of Howe; one son, S.R. Odom of Sherman, route 1; one brother, B.C. Odom of Dallas; and six grandchildren.
