Sunday, March 25, 1900 pg. 1 ANOTHER PIONEER GONE Ed Zintgraff who cast his lot with Denison in the seventies, and was one of the best known of our young business men, died Thursday at Little Rock. Mr. Zintgraff had been to Hot Springs for the benefit of his health and was en route to Texas. At the time of death the deceased was 45 years of age. He was born in New Orleans and was of French extraction. Probably the most active portion of Mr. Zintgraff's life was passed in Denison. The old insurance firm of Coffin & Zintgraff stood at the top round of the ladder for a number of years. Ed Zintgraff was a most important factor in the material advancement of Denison. He was a wide-awake, energetic young business man, the best type of a rising generation. Ed was very popular and found plenty of time from business duties to become quite a social lion. He left here six year ago and located in Dallas, occupying a very important position in insurance circles. He never forgot Denison and was a frequent visitor to his parents and friends. Mr. Gus Zintgraff, an only brother, who was at Eureka Springs for the benefit of his health, proceeded to Little Rock and arrived here Friday with the remains of his brother Ed. The interment will take place Saturday at Fairview cemetery at 4 o'clock p.m. The death of Ed Zintgraff is a terrible blow to his aged mother and is deeply lamented by a large circle of friends.
