June 28, 1956 John D. Vick, a long-time resident of Borger, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday in North Plains Hospital. He was 74 years old. Vick made his home at 101 Whittenburg. Services are scheduled this afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Ed Brown Funeral Home chapel with Weldon Lewis, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. The body will be sent to Denison, Texas for further services and burial. Vick is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Vick; three sons, Earl Vick and Walter Vick of Denison, and Melvin Vick of Borger; a daughter, Mrs. Velma Franklin, Denison; two brothers, Orville Vick, Hagerman, Texas and Earl Vick, Paris, Texas; his mother, Mrs. Mary Vick, Hagerman, Texas. Also surviving are five sisters; Mrs. Sam McClain, Hagerman; Mrs. Ola Cook, Pottsburg, Texas; Mrs. Pearl Mulkey, McAllen, Texas; Mrs. Ruby Crow, Denison and Margaret Vick, Denison.
