Dossie
Franklin Vick, 84, passed away December 11, 2019, at Sagebrush Hospital
in Grapevine, a Hospice Care Center. A life-long resident of Texas and
for the past 12 years in Grapevine. Dossie leaves behind his wife of 61
years, Elayne Vick, three sons: Marty Vick (wife Sylvia) from Ft.
Worth, Danny Vick (wife Angie) of Van Alstyne, and Andy Vick of Grand
Prairie, along with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by his mother (Mary F. Vick) and his father
(Walter G. Vick) and his baby brother (Tommy Earl). A graduate of
Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Dossie worked as a Corporate
Credit Manager for Texas Instruments for 27 years (1969 to1996).
Retired for the past 23 years, Dossie spent his days working out at the
Grapevine Recreation Center, spoiling his grandchildren, lunching with
his buddies from Texas Instruments and former athletes of Denison High
School, and watching football. A longtime fan of the University of
Texas football, he and Elayne traveled widely in the U.S. attending UT
games. He worked on planning his new home where he has lived for 12
years, sitting in his home office at his computer overseeing his
investments and frequenting the online UT chat line website,
communicating with other UT fans about sports. A visitation is
scheduled for 1pm Tuesday, Dec. 17. with a funeral service to begin at
2pm. Services will be held at Fairview Cemetery's chapel. Lander Bethyl
of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate along with family
members and various friends. Services have been entrusted to Bratcher
Funeral Home, Denison.
