MRS. IDA SMITH DEAD

Mrs. Ida Smith, one of the best known of our people, died Monday morning of appendicitis at her home, No. 704, West Crawford street. The deceased had been ill for a period of about ten days. Her condition was so critical Sunday night that Drs. Sea and Rutledge held a consultation and entertained but little hopes of recovery. It seems that Mrs. Smith had been complaining at intervals for some time.
The deceased has been a resident of Denison for many years. She had a very large circle of friends who are greatly shocked and grieved at her death. She was a most loveable character. Her husband is completely prostrated at the death of his wife who has been so near and dear to him throughout so many years. Mrs. Smith was prominent in lodge circles and social functions. She was a member of the First Christian church. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Maud Perkins of this city.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday from the family residence, Rev. Geo. W. Lee officiating. There was a very large attendance and many expressions of sorrow. The burial was at the Fairview cemetery.
