Funeral services for Henry Carmel Smith, 47, of 1517 W. Bond, were held Wednesday afternoon at Bratcher-Moore chapel with Rev. Bob Ramsay officiating.  Interment was in Fairview cemetery.
Smith died in the Katy Employees hospital Monday afternoon after 3 weeks of illness.
He had been employed as clerk in the Katy offices for 30 years.
Deceased was born in Pilot Point, Texas, April 20, 1907, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith.  He obtained his schooling in Denison and was married in Durant, August 10, 1939 to Gertrude Maxwell of Denison.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks.
Survivors are his wife; his mother, Mrs. Henry Smith of Ft. Worth; a son, David Smith; and 4 daughters, Marilyn, Doris Jean, Rose Marie and Marline, all of Denison; and a brother, J.B. Smith of Ft. Worth.
