Virginia Hunt Rhodes, age 65, of Denison ascended to her eternal home Saturday, November 12th at her residence.
Virginia was born in Denison, Texas as 1 half of a set of twins to her parents, the late James Sr. and Hattie Hunt. Born and raised in Denison, she graduated from Denison High School and also attended Grayson County College. She jumped right into the working world at age 17 starting at Sears and Roebuck and was never without a job since then. She went on to eventually become a floor supervisor and a beloved part of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield/Trailblazer family for more than 30 years! She transitioned from there to become the program manager of the foster grandparent’s division at TCOG until her much deserved retirement in 2022. She was a lifelong member of Array Olive COGIC/Greater Coffey Memorial COGIC. She was a member of the praise team and choir as well as the president of the YWCC and Bible Band Auxiliaries. She absolutely loved her church and everyone in it and anyone would confirm that she’d do anything for anybody at any time!! Virginia is survived by her husband Robert Rhodes, her sons Dale Rhodes (Nicole), Vincent Rhodes (Crystal), David McNealy (Camille) and grandchildren Trey, Alyssa, Ty, Heath, Chasen, Nolan, and Megan. Also, sisters Regina Hunt, Michelle Hunt, Denise Montgomery, and Lynn Hunt. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews which she loved as her own as well as an endless number of cousins and friends that she touched in her 65 years of life. She literally loved everyone. Saying she’s going to be missed by everyone that crossed her path is an understatement. A public visitation will be Friday, November 18th from 4 PM to 7 PM at Greater Coffey Memorial Church of God in Christ, 231 W. Texas St. Denison.
