David Roy Neighbors, 89, passed peacefully Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at The Terrace in Denison.

Mr. Neighbors was born March 12, 1933, in Beebe, Arkansas to David T and Edna Neighbors. Upon graduation he served in the Army in the Korean War. After he came home, he graduated from SOSU. He worked for LTV Electrosystems, Sager Engineering, Koeppen Baldwin Inc., and later retired from Johnson and Johnson in 1993. He was a 50+member of the Billie Mosse Lodge and a fraternity member of the Scottish Rite.

He was nicknamed “Smiley” at the nursing home where he lived. Everyone that came past his room saw his big smile. He enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren. He loved to travel and pittle in the yard. From building things to working on his lawnmower.

Mr. Neighbors leaves behind his daughters, Shellee McLaren of Denison, TX and Joi Prichard (Aaron) of Arlington, TX; his brother Glenn Neighbors (Susan) of Conroe, TX; grandchildren, Tylor McLaren, Maggie McLaren, Jordan, Karina, Cody, Tanner, and Skylar, six great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother and a granddaughter.

Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Fairview Cemetery in Denison. Family and friends will gather to visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023, at Fisher Funeral Home.
