DENISON - Delpha Pearl Garvin, 90-year-old Denison resident, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at Texoma Medical Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29 at Johnson-Moore Chapel with Rev. Earl Oglesbee officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Garvin was born on April 19, 1920 in Colbert, Okla., daughter of Vernon Alfred and Hattie Florence Proffitt Baugh. She was a graduate of Colbert High School in Colbert, Okla. She married Clifford Orn Garvin on April 14, 1948 in Denison and he preceded her in death on July 9, 1957. She was a school teacher in Miami, Okla. She was a member of Freewill Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star in Denison. Visitation will be from 7 -8 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Marty Oglesbee, David Sands, Bill Goodin, Nathan Glenn, Cody Horn and Matthew Glenn. Surviving are her son, Dr. C. David Garvin and wife Barbara of Denison; sister, Mrs. Irene Lark of Memphis, Tenn.; and grandchild, Lashawnda Glenn of Denison. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers and two sisters; and grandson, Clifford Roy Garvin.
