Richard Jones Burr, age 47, entered into eternal life, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Richard was born December 29, 1969 in Hartford, Connecticut the son of Richard F. and Sherry (Jones) Burr. He graduated from Arlington High School Class of 1988. Richard took flying lessons along with his dad in 1997, loved camping and bench rifle shooting with his dad and enjoyed spending “fun time” with his mom. He was an ASE Certified Auto Mechanic and ran one of the largest auto repair facility in Arlington for many years. Richard enjoyed his friends the most and get togethers at sports bars watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. He flew RC model planes at times and helped his dad build a 1450 sq. ft. home in the Kiamichi Mountains. He never met a stranger and was the best son any mom and dad could hope for. Richard will always be remembered for being soft spoken with a kind and loving nature, a wonderful sense of humor, and a deep sense of compassion. He was always a true and loyal friend to others. Although his passing leaves a void in our lives he will live on forever in our hearts. Richard leaves behind his beloved family, parents, Richard and Sherry Burr of Denison, TX; sisters, Ronell Hendricks of grand Prairie, TX; Debra K. Fields and husband, Chris of Arlington, TX and LeAnn McGuyer and husband, Steve of Lewisville, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and one great niece. He was preceded in death and met by his grandparents, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Hendricks. Funeral service for Richard will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Fisher Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Denison. Family and friends will gather from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Fisher Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Fisher Funeral Home to help offset the cost of funeral expenses.
