Sunday, April 3, 1892 pg 4 DEATH OF MISS BESSIE BREWER Monday evening Miss Bessie Brewer, of West Denison, attended the hop given by the Widukin lodge No. 9, and during the evening engaged in several numbers. Soon after midnight, the dance came to a close and Miss Brewer, in company with her escort, started home. About that time a shower of rain came up from the north and the young people were treated to a rather provoking wetting. Soon after her arrival home Miss Brewer complained of feeling unwell. Tuesday morning every breath produced excruciating pain, and despite the skill of the best physicians in the city, Miss Brewer sank rapidly, until 2 o'clock in the evening when she died. She was keeping house for her elder brother, her parents being dead. It was a most unfortunate termination of a evening of innocent pleasure. The remains were prepared for burial Tuesday evening and Wednesday they were interred in Fairview Cemetery.
