John Steven Thomas, 67, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, at Texoma Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Fairview Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating.
Steven was born on Friday, October 7, 1949, in Denison, Texas, to Matthew Thomas and Kathleen Adams Thomas. He worked all of his life at the Denison Country Club until 2001.
He is survived by his brother David Thomas and his wife Barbara of Plano, Texas, and his sister Carol Thomas of Arlington, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dennis Thomas, and his wife Gaylan.
Steven was a kind, sweet, hard working man. He was a DHS graduate and played golf for DHS. He was very spiritual and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Denison.
Steven loved and lived life to the fullest. He loved to dine out frequently. He especially loved to eat Mexican food at the Jalapeno Tree where his favorite waitresses were Rhonda McKee and her sister Tammy Mitchell. He also went to the IHOP restaurant every Sunday morning, where his favorite waiter, Jose Lopez, assisted him.
Steven also loved his animals, to play golf, to listen to country music, and to go to the movies!
He leaves behind his dear friends Karen and Randy Harmon of Denison, Karen's mother Sallie Ertel of Denison, and Brenda Anderson of Liberty Hill, Texas.
